Drag Chain Ends 🔗
For the two drag chains, remove the four (4) end links.Â

The image below shows the approximate locations of the drag chain ends, so you know where to attach them. The following instructions will guide you to the locations in more detail.Â
General location of drag chain ends on the AltMill
First insert three (3) M5 T-nuts into the left side of the X-axis extrusion T-slot through the opening in the Y gantry plate.

Install two drag chain ends on the T-nuts; one with holes on tabs, then another with studs. The holed drag chain end should be on the right, and the studded drag chain end should be on the left. See picture below for orientation and position on the X-rail.Â

Insert one (1) M5 T-Nut into the front of the left Y-axis extrusion, through the T-slot.

Using the T-nut, install one (1) drag chain end with holes on the Y-axis extrusion as shown below.

Install a drag chain end with studs on the Z drag chain bracket, using an M5 nylock nut and two (2) M5-10mm socket head cap screws.

Ensure that the orientation of the drag chain ends match the photos below.Â

Use a flat head screwdriver, pick, or another small tool to open all the clips on both drag chains, by inserting the tool underneath the clip at the side with the screwdriver icon.
