Third-Party Laser
If you wish to add your own laser to your AltMill, please see this complete setup guide on our SLB resources page. The guide features the SLB, but the process works for the SLB-EXT (the AltMill controller) as well.
LaserBeam
The AltMill is also compatible with the Sienci Labs 7W LaserBeam System. You can find detailed instructions on how to set up your LaserBeam for the AltMill at the LaserBeam knowledge base.
A few notes:
- If you wish to run all the wiring through the AltMill drag chain, you will need longer cables than the ones provided in the LaserBeam kit. Please add this item to your order.
- You may need to reduce the maximum speeds ($110 and $111) to 5000 mm/min to efficiently run the LaserBeam, which is lower than the default settings. This can be changed in the Firmware tool on gSender.
